Wudang Mountain, also known as Taihe Mountain, is located in Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province. It is a famous Taoist resort in China, one of the first batch of national key scenic spots, and a world cultural heritage. The north foot of Wudang Mountain is the core water source area of the Middle Route Project of South to North Water Transfer in China, and the largest artificial freshwater lake in Asia - Danjiangkou Reservoir.
The mountain rocks are mainly mica schists. Due to the erosion of nature, strange peaks stand up and valleys crisscross. The main peak, Tianzhu Peak, is known as "one pillar holding the sky". The seventy-two peaks around are like a bell standing on a tripod, standing apart from each other. Among them, Jintong Peak and Yunv Peak are graceful and graceful; The incense burner peak and wax candle peak are shrouded in clouds and smoke; The Five Old Peaks are senile; Spreading the flag peak, we are ready to move... forming a natural picture of "72 peaks towards the top, 24 streams flowing". In addition, there are thirty-six rocks, eleven caves, three pools, nine springs, ten ponds, nine wells, ten rocks, nine platforms, as well as such wonders as "Tianzhu Xiaoqing", "Golden Hall reflection", "crows catching food", "musk deer leaping into the stream", etc. So Xu Xiake, a geographer in the Ming Dynasty, said: "I have collected the Five Mountains' Annals since I was born, while Xuanyue (Wudang) came out of the Five Mountains, and I admire you very much.".
