Yin Xi, a representative figure of Taoism and the first person to spread Tao Te Ching

It is recorded in history that Emperor Zhenwu, the first person to become a Taoist in Wudang Mountain after 42 years of hard training. After him, the second cultivator who left his name in Wudang Mountain has the same legendary deeds - he is Yin Xi who entered the mountain with 5000 words in Tao Te Ching.
Yin Xi, named Wengong, is Mr. Wenshi and Guan Yin. One of the top ten heroes in the world in the pre Qin period, the official worshipped the order of Hangu Pass of the Zhou Dynasty, the doctor, and the great general. He was a brilliant philosopher and educator in the pre Qin period; It is the founder of Taoist Louguan Sect and Wenshi Sect.
The Book of Han · Yiwenzhi has recorded nine articles of Guan Yinzi, and the old title is "Zhou Yinxi wrote". These nine articles of Guan Yinzi are what later generations called the "Wen Shi Zhen Jing".
Guan Yinzi is derived from the Tao Te Ching left by Laozi when he left Hangu Pass in the west. Therefore, in Zhuang Zi · Tianxia written by Nanhua Laoxian, Laozi and Guan Yinzi are described together. The most important thing is to value God, be quiet and self-centered, be alone in nothingness, and respond to things. That is to say, it is said in the Taoist classic "The Supreme Lord Lao Jun Talks about Chang Qingjing Sutra" that "people can live in peace and quiet, and heaven and earth know that all belong". Therefore, Guan Yinzi's thought of valuing Qing has an important influence on the formation of the concept of "Qing" in China.

"Guan Yin Guiqing" is recorded in "Lu Shi's Spring and Autumn Annals - Bu Er Pian". The word "Guiqing" points out the characteristics of Guan Yin's thought, and also points out that Guan Yinzi, as the beginning of Wudang cultivators, has left behind a practice atmosphere that affects later generations in Wudang Mountain: "contented and dutiful, honest and indifferent, not tired by things, and spiritual independence." It emphasizes that the mind of cultivators should be like a mirror to stop the water, not be moved by foreign things, but let the foreign things change themselves, and cultivate themselves by doing things outside.
Such cultivator temperament can still be seen everywhere on Wudang Mountain today. And there is no doubt that the refinement and inheritance of Chinese traditional culture over thousands of years have also been deeply affected. For example, today's social atmosphere and the Chinese people's calm and free character, who act on their own, do not like things, do not grieve for themselves, are the ancient cultural wealth such as Guan Yin, Lao Zhuang's way, and the best evidence that still flows in the blood of Chinese culture.
