Red revolutionary culture

红色革命文化

Shiyan City has a long history of red revolution. Zhang Zhenwu, the most important meritologist of the 1911 Revolution, was from Zhushan County, Shiyan City. Since then, the red gene of this young city has been destined, and it kept following the spark of revolution to grow into a red landmark as today.

At present, Shiyan has 2 national, 6 provincial and 8 municipal patriotic education bases. There are 11 memorial halls, 13 monuments, 11 memorial pavilions, 2 memorial shrines, 6 county-level martyrs’ cemeteries, 826 martyrs’ tombs and 4 statues of martyrs.

From the Agrarian Revolution to the War of Liberation, the people’s army under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) came to Shiyan nine times and left for other places eight times. It created revolutionary bases here for seven times. Since the CPC started to lead the Chinese people to carry out revolution, the strategic shift of the Third Red Army and the Fourth Front Red Army, the Long March of the 25th Red Army, and the breakout of the Central Plain all left representative revolutionary cultural relics in Shiyan. Eight counties and urban areas have been included in the list of the first batch of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics, and Yunxi County has been included in the Long March (25th Red Army) zone of the second batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area.

What is the Red Army, which was engraved by General Liu Huaqing himself, was collected in Yunxi Archives, witnessing the history of the 25th Red Army's founding of the Hubei Henan Shaanxi Revolutionary Base.
The "silver dollar of Marx's head" collected by Fangxian Museum is also known as "the coin in the beacon of time". This is the revolutionary currency of the Soviet area in northwest Hubei in the early years, and it is also the pearl of red currency.
In the urban area, the "Shiyang Road" named by Shi Yang, a lawyer who spoke for the labor, and the "Xianzhen Road" named by Yang Xianzhen, a proletarian revolutionist of the older generation and a loyal soldier of the Party's underground front, jointly pave the way for the city's long red years.
Red blood has shaped red rivers and mountains. Red culture inherits the red belief. Today's Shiyan will not change its true color, and the vicissitudes of life will not undermine its lofty and lofty!
