The natural treasure house blocks the source of the river. Duhe River rushes out from Shennongjia and goes north all the way. The scenery on both sides of the Baili Duhe River is picturesque, known as "Baili Gallery Duhe River Source". Duheyuan, located at the southernmost end of Zhushan County, is a national nature reserve and an important water source area of the middle route project of the "South to North Water Transfer". It is connected to the eighteen mile long gorge of Zhuxi in the west and Shennongjia National Nature Reserve in the south, forming the ecological foundation of the ecological cultural tourism circle in western Hubei.

Duheyuan has a unique natural environment, with many beautiful peaks, crisscross streams, and densely covered springs. The highest peak, Gundao Mountain, is 2635m, with a relative height difference of 2295m. The source water of Dujiangjia River starts from the Great Nine Lakes National Wetland Park in Shennongjia. There are dozens of underground outlets at the source of Dujiangjia River, which are shaped like the mouth of a giant dragon. They rush down from the mountains. The peaks along the bank are overlapping. Due to the deep cut of the drop, many canyons and karst caves have been formed. There are Token Stronghold, Shenlong Pass, Gundao Mountain, Tiansheng Bridge, Great Karst Cave, Pot Bottom Pit, and Primitive Forest Sea in the territory.

Duheyuan is also a natural museum of medicinal materials. Its vegetation has an ancient origin. There are more than 1800 kinds of plant medicines. It is rich in relict species, endemic species, rare and endangered species. Valuable Chinese herbal medicines include a flower with seven leaves, a pen by King Wen, a bowl of water by the river, a pearl on the head, a golden hairpin, and Hongjingtian.
