As the core water source area of the South-North Water Diversion Project, the people of Shiyan have written a magnificent chapter of ecological civilization construction in the new era with their selfless dedication and extraordinary ambition. In order to further protect the heritage and exploit the culture of the South-North Water Diversion Project in Shiyan, and to give full play to the educational guidance function of the museum, the volunteer service team of the Shiyan Museum "Sunshine of Ten Bo" carried out a patriotic activity called "A River of Clear Water Sends the Heart of Patriotism to Protect the Water Side" in the morning of November 12. Patriotic education activities, experience, excursions, knowledge quiz and other ways to let the general public understand the South-to-North Water Diversion Project and the moving story behind the project.
Before the activity started, the volunteers distributed the knowledge leaflets to the audience and started to understand the knowledge about the South-North Water Diversion Project together. Then, the volunteers guided everyone to the "Shiyan and Water" exhibition hall on the third floor and told the audience the overview of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project and the touching stories behind it. As the world's largest water transfer project with the largest number of beneficiaries, the South-North Water Transfer Project is divided into three lines: East, Central and West. Shiyan, as the core water source area of the middle line project, has been dedicated to the project for more than 60 years, and has made every effort to ensure the construction of the project, which has directly benefited more than 120 million people along the line, fully interpreting the responsibility and commitment of the "well keepers". At the end of the activity, the volunteers reviewed the content of the lecture together with everyone through a prize competition, and the atmosphere reached a climax.

Many legends of dragon culture are also widely spread in the region. The ancient ape-man site of Bailong Cave in the scenic spot has been identified for 800000 years.
